The Toronto fashion shoot reality

A traditional Toronto fashion shoot is built on a stack of fees that don't scale

Model day rates ($800–$2,500). Photographer ($2,000–$5,000). Studio rental ($400–$1,200/day). Hair and makeup. Stylist. Location permits if you go outdoors. By the time the shoot wraps, an indie Toronto fashion brand has spent $5,000–$15,000 to get 30–60 hero shots — from one model, in one location, in one styling moment. Need plus-size? Different ethnicity? Outdoor scene? Book another day. Shotless rebuilt fashion photography so you get the diversity, locations and styling variation a real brand needs — without the day-rate compounding.

Every model you'd want to book — without booking

Body types, ethnicities, ages, features — specify, we render

AI fashion photography's real superpower isn't cost. It's representation. Every model you wish you could afford to book — every body type, every age, every ethnicity — available on the same project, the same day, the same brand world. No "we only had size-2 models available" excuses.

SIZE RANGE

XS through 4XL

Every size in your actual range — anatomically accurate proportions and authentic fit on each. Stop relying on size-2 samples standing in for your size-16 customer.

ETHNICITY

Every represented community

South Asian, East Asian, Black, Latino, Indigenous, Middle Eastern, Caucasian, mixed heritage — specify the ethnicity that matches your brand audience for each shot.

AGE

20s through 70s

Most fashion shoots default to 20s for budget reasons. We render every age range so your brand can speak to its actual customer demographic — including 40+, 60+, mother-daughter, multi-generational campaigns.

FEATURES

Diverse aesthetics

Tattoos, piercings, scars, vitiligo, freckles, body hair, natural hair textures, locs, hijab, grey hair, mature skin — your model identity choices, fully represented.

STYLING

Hair, makeup, accessories

Specify hair length, color, texture (locs, curls, natural, braids, straight), makeup style (clean girl, glam, editorial, no-makeup), accessory styling — locked across the campaign.

CULTURAL CONTEXT

Modest fashion, religious wear, traditional

Hijab, abaya, modest swim, kufi, kimono, sari, traditional dress — rendered with cultural accuracy and respect, not Western default styling layered on top.

What we shoot for fashion brands

From flat-lay to editorial — one production, one brand world

Fashion brands need five image types simultaneously: ecommerce flat-lays for product grids, on-model hero shots for product pages, detail crops for description galleries, lookbook editorials for brand identity, and short-form video ads for paid social. We deliver every type from one pipeline.

FLAT-LAY PACKSHOTS

Garment-only ecommerce shots

Clean flat-lay or ghost-mannequin packshots for product page grids — white or neutral background, full garment visible, consistent across the collection.

ON-MODEL HERO

Front, side, back, action

The model wearing your garment — front view, side view, back view, motion. The hero shots that anchor your product page and convert browsers to buyers.

LOOKBOOK EDITORIAL

12-24 image storytelling series

Cohesive editorial series across one or two model identities, multiple looks and locations — the brand-world content for homepage heroes, email campaigns and lookbook PDFs.

DETAIL CROPS

Texture, stitching, hardware

Macro detail shots showing fabric texture, stitching quality, button details, zipper hardware, embroidery — the supporting evidence in product page galleries.

CAMPAIGN HEROES

Seasonal launch visuals

The hero campaign image for seasonal launches, sale announcements, collection drops — cinematic styling, locked brand world, multiple aspect ratios.

VIDEO ADS

Reels · TikTok · Shorts

Short-form fashion video ads — model in motion, garment styling reveal, "outfit of the day" format. 6/15/30 seconds in 9:16, 1:1, 16:9 — included in fashion lookbook packs.

Fashion photography FAQ

What Toronto fashion brands ask before they brief us

Can AI models wear my actual clothing?
Yes — send a clean flat-lay plus detail shots, and we render AI models wearing your actual garment with correct drape, fit, fabric texture, color, prints and hardware. Not a generic version — your real piece.
Do you support plus-size and inclusive sizing?
Yes — every size XS through 4XL with anatomically accurate proportions and authentic fit. No more relying on size-2 samples for your size-16 customer. Real representation across your full size range.
Can AI models be specific ethnicities, ages, or features?
Yes — every render specifies ethnicity, age, body type, hair, skin tone, makeup, styling. Need a 60-year-old South Asian woman with grey hair? A 22-year-old East Asian man with a beard? Specify and we deliver. No casting fees.
How accurate is fabric drape and fit on AI models?
For knits, denim, wovens, tailored pieces — drape and fit render with physical accuracy. For complex technical garments (structured outerwear, pleating, transparent fabric) we ask for additional reference shots. Drape revisions included.
Do you do hijab, modest fashion, and culturally specific styling?
Yes — hijab, abaya, kimono, sari, kufiya, modest swim, religious head coverings, traditional dress. Specify cultural context and we render with respect and accuracy.
Can you produce flat-lay alongside on-model?
Yes — most fashion clients order on-model + flat-lay + detail crops together. Flat-lay packshots ($20) for grids, on-model lifestyle ($40) for hero pages, detail crops for description galleries. One brief, complete catalogue.
What about lookbook editorials?
Lookbook editorials are one of our strongest formats. 12–24 image editorial series with one or two model identities across multiple looks and locations — same model identity throughout for visual consistency, just like a traditional lookbook shoot.
How does pricing compare to traditional fashion shoots?
Traditional Toronto fashion shoot: $5,000–$15,000/day (model fees, photographer, studio, HMUA, styling), 30–60 hero shots from one model in one location. Shotless: $1,900 for same volume with multiple model identities across multiple locations.
